We are excited to invite you to join us for our Paella & More Culinary Event hosted by Chef Alejandro Villagomez and Guest Chef Felipe Geraldo of Bar El Minero The event will take place on Sunday, December 22nd at 11:00AM at Rancho Cacachilas (Rancho Gaspareño).

We will be serving Chef Felipe Geraldo's signature paella consisting of rice, pork, chicken, mussels, chorizo, squid, shrimp, vegetables and saffron.  The paella will be accompanied by a salad bar from our organic garden, oysters and grilled fish prepared by Chef Alejandro Villagomez.  You will also have the opportunity to try our award-winning cheeses and jams at the tasting table. 

This event will be a wonderful day in the mountains filled with live music, farm-to-table food, mule rides for kids, and games such as archery. The cost for this event is $1,500 MXN per person and $750 MXN for children under 8.  There is limited availability for this event so be sure to reserve your space in advance!

Meet Our Dinner Hosts

Chef Alejandro Villagomez - Chef Alejandro Villagomez is a Mexican chef with 17 years of experience and his goal has always been to please guests by creating memorable experiences. We are excited to welcome him to the Rancho Cacachilas team as our new Executive Chef. 

Prior to joining the Ranch team, he served for 7 years as the Executive Chef at Costa Baja Resort & Spa in La Paz. He also worked for 10 years alongside one of the top Mexican Chefs, Enrique Olvera at Pujol restaurant in Mexico City, a restaurant considered the best in Mexico according to the 2019 ranking by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants and #12th in the world.  Back in 2007, he worked in the renowned restaurant El Celler de Can Roca, specializing in traditional Catalan cuisine, that in 2013 and 2015 was considered the best restaurant in the world by Restaurant Magazine and holds three Michelin stars.

Alejandro brings his technique, creativity, and love for the environment to the Rancho Cacachilas kitchen. He is a dynamic chef that is dedicated to sharing his skills and to continual learning.

Chef Felipe Geraldo - Chef Felipe Geraldo is the Executive Chef of Bar el Minero in El Triunfo. He found his passion for cooking at the early age of 8, while he watched his mom in the kitchen, even though he could barely reach the cooking pans. He eventually developed a love for homemade style and festive food by applying his mother’s recipes that where passed from generation to generation. He is a self-taught chef that mixes techniques learned in his family and friends’ kitchens and restaurants from the 3 Californias (the USA, BCS, and BC).

He has also taken healthy food courses focused on prevention of chronic degenerative diseases, rice-based dishes, Spanish and Mexican cuisine, charcuterie, farm to table cooking and has had the opportunity to cook for celebrities and political and business leaders.  You will not want to miss this opportunity to enjoy Chef Felipe Geraldo's signature paella in this unique ranch setting!
